A gun rack style storage solution for your barbells!
Mount Bars on Shafts or Sleeves
The holders are large enough to hold either the bar sleeves or shafts. Space the two pieces of this horizontal barbell rack as far apart as required, depending the bar lengths and your preference. Racking the bars on the sleeves will protect the knurling from damage, a good idea for olympic lifting bars that otherwise never touch a rack.
Better than Vertical Storage
This type of rack is easier on bars than a bar rack that holds bars vertically. A vertical storage stand like that has a few problems. If you have a standard 8ft residential ceiling, you will be in danger of bumping it against the ceiling each time you use it. If your bar has needle bearings, you risk damaging them by slamming the bar down on one end. The oil or grease inside the sleeves can collect to one side of each sleeve when it's stored vertically, worsening the spin of the sleeve. It also frees up your floor space.
