Good as a portable rack for doing bench presses. This is significantly more stable than the cheaper portable squats on the market.
The safety latches on the upper bar holders will hold the bar in place to help prevent the danger of the bar tipping as you load one side at a time. However, if you have the uprights properly spaced at 46" apart (inside edges) then you can easily load a 45 lb plate on each side without the other end tipping.
Valor Fitness gives a 700 lb recommended weight limit. However, we recommend you put plates on the rear storage pegs to stabilize the stands as necessary. Use your best judgement.
Not recommended as squat stands except for users under 5ft tall. The top bar holders are only 49" tall and will need to reach higher than your shoulders for you to re-rack the bar safely by walking into the holders.
