Limited availability. These dumbbells have a different font for the Troy logo and weight marking on the ends, so we have teamed with Troy to sell them at a huge price reduction to clear them out. Sales are final on these particular dumbbells, and they don't carry a warranty. Other than the logo issue, there is nothing wrong with these, and they are otherwise the same as the full-price 'TSD-U' dumbbells.
We are doing our best to keep an eye on stock so that we don't have to cancel any orders. Some sizes are down to less than 10 available.
TIP: Get as many sizes of these as are available, and fill out the missing pieces of your set with the normal version of the TSD-U dumbbell that doesn't have the logo issue.

Urethane is worth the cost for high-use environments. It doesn't degrade over time and start peeling or cracking. Sunlight or heat doesn't affect it in the long term. It's more abrasion resistant than rubber. And finally it has no odor. Top gyms commercial today use urethane dumbbells.
